Andrews won the 1983-84 Virginia State Junior Championships and was a five-time winner of the Virginia Women’s State Amateur Championship (1985-89). She was the North- South Women’s Amateur Championship winner in 1984 and 1988 and was runner-up in 1989. As a collegiate player for the University of North Carolina, Andrews won the 1989 Furman University Invitational and was a Second-Team All-American that same year.
