World Golf Hall of Famer Jan Stephenson appears LIVE on The Legends Tour's Facebook page this Thursday, June 4 at 4pm ET. Hosted by Legends Tour CEO and 11-time LPGA Tour champion Jane Geddes. Follow Now >>
Jan Stephenson, who has 41 professional wins worldwide, won 16 times on the LPGA Tour including 3 major championships. In 1983, she edged out JoAnne Carner and Patty Sheehan by one stroke to win the U.S. Senior Women's Open. Born in Syndey, Australia, Stephenson followed up a stellar amateur career on the 60's by joining the LPGA Tour in 1974 and promptly earning Rookie of the Year honors. Stephenson became as famous for her sex appeal as her golf during the early to mid-1980s, when she posed in a bathtub – covered up only by the golf balls filling the tub – and later in a pinup calendar. A founding member of The Legends Tour (2000), Stephenson has picked up six wins on the senior circuit and was a stalwart competitor for the World Team in the annual ISPS Handa Cup. Stephenson secured the World Team's only outright win over the Americans in the 11-year series (2013) when she sank a 30-foot putt on the final hole to win her singles match. Never one to rest on her laurels, Stephenson recently started a wine and spirits business under her name and has been traveling the country hosting tastings and putting on golf clinics to promote her award-winning rum.
